MV Art Guild Now Exhibiting Work At Lost City Museum
The Lost City Museum proudly presents an art exhibit by The Moapa Valley Art Guild from August 1 to September 30. The guild has over 70 members displaying a variety of art forms including, watercolor, oil, acrylic, sketch artists, photographers and gourd painters.
The Moapa Valley Art Guild was founded in 1959 by well- known artist and teacher Max Bunnell. Bunnell wanted the community to be able to have original, affordable art hanging in their homes. He also wanted to stimulate artistic interest in the local community.
The Guild now holds a number of exhibits and events during the year including fundraisers to finance art scholarships for Moapa Valley High School students and a Pomegranate Festival, which brings together local artisans and crafts people.
The Lost City Museum is open Thursday through Sunday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Admission is $5.00; children and members enter free. For more information, please call the museum at (702) 397-2193.
