Nancy Case

Nancy Case, 78, of Plankinton, South Dakota died Tuesday, July 26, 2011 at Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls.

Nancy Jean (Stoops) Case was born on July 4, 1933 to William and Geraldine Wilson Stoops in Ely, Nev..

She lived in Kimberly, Nev. until high school, graduating from White Pine County High School in Ely in 1950.

She was employed at her father’s auto agency a short time before entering the U.S. Navy in 1951, serving during the Korean War.

Honorably discharged in 1954, she relocated to California working on the Titan Missile Program for eight years.

Returning to Ely, she worked for the Ely Daily Times a few years before moving to Las Vegas in 1964, where she took a position with the U.S. Postal Service.

On September 5, 1965, she united in marriage to Jack Case in Las Vegas.

She retired as postmaster in Logandale, Nev. in 1988 to become a resident of Plankinton.

Grateful for having shared in Nancy’s life are her husband of more than 45 years, Jack Case, Plankinton; along with several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Nancy was preceded in death by her son, Bradford Case; her parents William and Geraldine Stoops; two brother, Bill and Richard Stoops; a sister, Priscilla Arias; an aunt and a great aunt.

There will be no funeral services.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Brad Case Memorial Scholarship, c/o Steele and Steele PC, 404 S. Main St., Plankinton, SD 57368. Arrangements under the direction of Shearer-Mount Funeral Home.

    Oh my god. So sad to hear of Nancy. I sure do miss you guys.
    I lost Alma to cancer i2003, Married my ex-wife Betty in 2004
    and moved to Wilder Idaho, up by Boise. My Love and prayers are with you.
