Falcon Ridge Realty has expanded into Moapa Valley to help residents with their housing dilemmas.

“We put homeowners in contact with tenants and we help tenants find homes,” owner Jay Hills explains.

Falcon Ridge Realty opened in Mesquite six years ago as a full service real estate company; not only listing homes for sale, but also managing Mesquite rental properties for homeowners.

In the last year, Hills has seen a need for a property management company in Moapa Valley as well. As the economy declines, more and more, Hills observed that Valley residents are having to move. Because of the housing market, people are unable to sell their homes, and are instead considering renting them out, Hills said.

“What we’re seeing is a lot of people who have jobs in other locations and have to move their families, but they can’t sell their homes,” Hills explains.

That’s where Falcon Ridge comes in. Hills said that his company can manage the property; including finding tenants, writing the lease, accepting rent payments, perform home inspections, and provide maintenance.

Hills has a group of maintenance experts that he works with to provide needed repairs and maintenance. Because of the contracts he has with them, he is able to provide maintenance on properties for a lower cost than a homeowner would be able to.

Hills hopes to acquire enough clients locally to open a physical office in Overton and hire an assistant. His Mesquite office employs three full time agents.

In the meantime, Hills is handling every local property himself. Since Hills lives in Moapa Valley, this arrangement makes the most sense to him.

“I’m excited for this,” he said. “There’s a real need for this service in the valley, and I’m glad that I can help my neighbors out.”
