Helen Sargent

Helen Sargent, age 83, died September 4, 2011 in Des Moines, IA. She was born July 31, 1928 in Cincinnati, OH to Maurice and Marie Steingrubel Behymer.

Helen grew up in Cincinnati. On March 18, 1950 she married Frank Sargent. Helen and Frank raised their 3 children in Cincinnati. In 1995 she retired to Logandale, NV.

Helen was full of life and loved to play Bingo and Pinochle. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She has touched so many lives and will be missed by all.

Survivors include; children Katherine (Gerald) Beiser of Cincinnati, OH, Sandra(Steven) Barstis of Ankeny, IA, Matthew Sargent of Cincinnati, OH, sister Virginia Matlock of Magnolia, NJ, 6 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Frank, 2 brothers and 1 sister.

Memorial Mass was held at Our Lady’s Immaculate Heart church in Ankeny, IA on Friday, Sept. 9, 2011. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
