The Moapa Valley High School Lady Pirates varsity volleyball team rolled over the Cheyenne High School Desert Shields Tuesday, Sept. 27, in a quick three-game match.
Pirate Coach Mandie Matheson said the MVHS team had a difficult time finding its rhythm but, nevertheless, easily handled the Cheyenne team 25-11, 25-17 and 25-19 at the North Las Vegas school.
“We really didn’t serve as tough as we should have but we kept up the fight and got the job done,” Matheson said.
Notable statistics included Malary Reid who had nine kills and Emma Eira with 8 kills.
