Two weeks ago a Town Hall Meeting was held in Mesquite with Senator Joe Hardy, Assemblyman Cresent Hardy, and Clark County Commissioner Tom Collins present. I became aware of it too late by reading an article in one of the Mesquite newspapers. When I inquired of a friend of mine in Mesquite, who, in fact, was responsible for coordinating this event, why we in the Moapa Valley weren’t made aware of the Town Hall meeting, she replied that she had personally reached out to our Chamber of Commerce so they could do just that. How disappointing that they chose not to do so.

My question then is why did the Moapa Valley Chamber of Commerce not think it necessary to let those of us who live here know about this Town Hall meeting by notifying The Progress so that something could have been put into the newspaper?
