Overton Car Show To Be Held This Saturday
The Moapa Valley Chamber of Commerce will be holding its thirteenth annual Fall Festival Car and Motorcycle Show on Saturday, October 15 in the Overton Park. Chamber officials are looking forward to a day full of fun in the park with plenty of cars.
“This has always been a great event for the Chamber in bringing people from outside the area into the downtown business district of Overton,” said Moapa Valley Chamber of Commerce president Jeff Phillips. “With the rough economy it has been a bit of a struggle this year but we felt like that is all the more reason to keep it going.”
The festivities will begin bright and early on Saturday morning. Cars and motorcycles have been entered into the show from all throughout the west including California, Arizona, Salt Lake City, St. George and Las Vegas; and more are expected to come.
For entertainment, the Car Show will feature a live band, the local favorite The Shrimp Shack Shooters. There will also be fun for the kids with games and activities. Attendees will be able to visit food and merchandise vendor booths that will be set up in the park.
A raffle will also be held with a variety of prizes.
Over 50 awards will be given at the end of the show to winning entries. Show categories range from Street Stock to Custom Hot Rods. There is a Young Rods category for exhibitors under 25 years of age. And the newest category this year is for Rat Rods.
Those interested in entering cars or motorcycles email carshow@mvdsl.com for information.
The show is free to the spectating public.
