In Ecclesiastes 1:9 it states, “There is nothing new under the sun.”
Having said this, not long ago I discovered a statement, “…that the people justly view with alarm the reckless extravagance which pervades every department of the federal government.” And that we need “… a return to ridged economy and accountability” which “… is indispensible to arrest the systematic plunder of the public treasury by favorite partisans.”
Can you imagine who might have said that? It was part of the platform that got Abraham Lincoln elected. But we didn’t listen then, and even less are we listening now.
In that same speech, Lincoln said, “…a house divided against its self cannot stand.” He wasn’t afraid to quote the Bible.
We just need to go back to the Constitution, so we can escape this ever-tightening tapestry of bureaucracy and the grid of laws it creates to enforce restrictions all around us. See? Nothing new.
Call your Senators and Representatives. Demand that they begin to follow the Constitution and stand up for liberty. For the sake of our survival as a nation, call and let them know what you know to be true. Let them hear you so they can represent you.
