Lost City Museum To Hold Native American Day

The Lost City Museum will hold Native American Day Saturday November 12, 2011 from 10 a.m. to 4:00 pm. Native American artisans will be in attendance demonstrating different skills including flint knapping, beading, weaving and jewelry making. In addition there will be performances by Native American dancers. Delicious food will also be available for sale including fry bread and Indian tacos.

As part of Native American Day, Dr. Margaret Lyneis, Professor Emeritus of Archaeology at UNLV, will present a lecture”Adding to the Story of the Lost City Through the Yamashita Sites.” The lecture will take place at 3:00 p.m.

The Lost City Museum is open Thursday through Sunday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Admission is $5.00; children and members enter free. For more information, please call the museum at (702) 397-2193.
