The Moapa Valley Senior Center is seeking vendors to participate in its 30th Annual Fall Bazaar and Fundraiser scheduled Saturday from 8 a.m. to noon.
Christine Trombley, center director, said tables for vendors are being set up in the dining/multipurpose room inside facility this year and she’d like to see them full of goods for sale.
“We want people selling everything they can think of except baked goods because we’re doing that ourselves,” she said. “We’d like to see crafts, any art things, hobby items, as well as knitted and other handmade items. In past years, vendors would sell yard sale type items because event was held outside ‘swap-meet fashion’ at the old senior center. Yard sale items are welcome, as long as they’re not too big and bulky.”
Inclement weather last year put a damper on the event which was held in the front of the building.
“Last year we had a real problem with the cold and the wind,” Trombley said “The wind was so bad it was not only blowing stuff off the tables, it was blowing the tables over, too, so we’re changing things a little this year and moving everything inside.”
She said breakfast will not be served this year but there will be coffee, juice, cupcakes and muffins for sale in place of the meal.
The center’s address is on Cooper Street and the building abuts Moapa Valley Boulevard across from the Overton Post Office. Interested vendors can call 397-8002 for more information about the bazaar.
