In recent months, the Logandale Storage facility has seen some significant changes in management. The 125 unit storage facility is now under the management of Moapa Valley residents and business-owners Kurt and Angie Kelson.

Earlier this year, the Kelsons took up residence in the home adjacent to the storage facility which is owned by Logandale Storage owner Jack Jensen. The Kelsons have since transitioned in to becoming on-site managers for the facility.

The Kelsons have lived in Moapa Valley for about four years now, though their connections to the community go back well beyond that.

“We first met Jack (Jensen) about fifteen years ago when he was working as a realtor out of the Coldwell Banker office in Logandale,” recalled Kurt Kelson. “Even way back then we were looking for property to buy here.”

At this point, much of the couple’s time is spent managing the storage facility and its accompanying U-haul dealership. Angie also works as a mortgage broker providing able mortgage services to local residents.

The Logandale Storage property, situated on the edge of the east bench of the valley overlooking the north end of Logandale, has a long commercial history. It was the site of Jensen Feed store, a livestock feed and general mercantile store which served the community starting in the mid 1970s.

Jack Jensen bought the old store and started running it in 1982. Jensen had moved to Moapa Valley in June of 1972 to run the old Val Verde Farms. A few years later, when the farm liquidated and stopped running, Jensen and his family stayed in the community.

“We loved the valley and we didn’t want to leave,” Jensen said.

After acquiring Jensen Feed Store in 1982, Jack ran it until 1990. It was at that point that he began a transformation of the property to a storage facility. He modified the large barn structures of the store and created 24 units totalling about 5600 sqare feet.

Since then the facility has continued to expand. Three years ago, Jensen constructed an addition which added 98 more units to the facility. Logandale Storage offers air cooled insulated units to protect sensitive items in the summer. The facility also offers extra large units up to 10 x 30 which are big enough to accomodate a boat or other recreation vehicle. Other unit sizes include 10×25, 10×20, 10×15, 10×10 and 5×10.

Logandale Storage is also the only U-haul dealership in the community. They offer truck and trailer rentals as well as a line of moving supplies.

Logandale Storage is located at 1595 Jensen Ave. in Logandale. The facility is currently offering several end-of-year specials. For more information call 398-3390.
