Local tour company, Adventure Glide, is inviting the Moapa Valley community to try out its new zipline course in Overton.

Awesome Adventures and Adventure Glide have recently opened a new Ropes Course and Zipline in an area just south of downtown Overton. To introduce the facility to Moapa Valley residents, the locally run businesses are offering special, limited time pricing for locals to come out and experience the zipline. In addition they are giving $2 from each sale to Cappalappa Family Resource Center to carry on its work of helping local residents in need.

The special will run from December 13-23. Local residents can schedule times starting at 1:00 pm. The price is $12 per person.

“We are grateful for all the community support we have received while going through the process to open this facility in Overton recently,” said course operator Jill Williams. “We decided to open it to the community for a while to show our appreciation, and to give something back to the community.”

The zipline runs just over 1000 feet long. The launching platform is 100 feet off the ground. The average speed of the zipline ride is 35-40 mph.

The facility is located off Magnasite Road in Overton, just past the St. Thomas Cemetery.

The zipline was constructed to provide a local attraction for tour groups that Awesome Adventures brings to the area, Williams said.

“All of our zipline sales from our regular tour customers during this period will also earn the $2 per person for Cappalappa Family Resource Center,” Williams said.

Local residents who wish to schedule a zipline adventure are required to make a reservation with the company by calling 702-257-7338 between the hours of 7:00 am and 8:00 pm, PST.

All participants must be over the age of 5 AND weigh at least 50 lbs. Maximum weight is 250 lbs. Under 18 MUST have parent/guardian present and must sign release for minors.
