Fire Destroys Home
Fire completely destroyed the home of Ann Schreiber in the Warm Springs area of Moapa on Friday morning. Firefighters speculated that the fire could have been started by a space heater, but investigators say that any evidence was destroyed by the intensity of the fire. Schreiber was not home at the time of the fire.

100 Riders Enjoy Desert Back Country
Nearly 100 riders participated in the second annual First of the Year four-wheeler ride sponsored by Splash Fever RV of Overton. The riders took a 44-mile ride from the Bunkerville cutoff to Tassi. At the end of the ride, participants were treated to a Dutch Oven chicken dinner prepared by chefs John Kendall and Oscar Henderson.

Cotton Bowl Performance
Tanya Hopkins, Wendy Frederick, KC Kinsley, Bridgett Kimball, Lacy Horn, and Mandy Bushman from MVHS were selected as NCA Superstar Dance Team participants in the Cotton Bowl. They were joined by girls across the nation to perform in both the 1992 Cotton Bowl Parade and the Mobil Cotton Bowl Half Time extravaganza on New Year’s Day.

Valley Herald and Lake Mead Monitor: January 6, 1987
Library Construction On Schedule
Construction on the 4500 square foot library in Overton is well underway. Librarian Tonia Payne stated she has already picked out the carpeting, furniture, shelving, drapes, and fixtures for the new building.

Completion of the library was expected to be the beginning of March.
