Quail Hollow Gets More National Attention
Quail Hollow Farm, a Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) farm in Overton has made yet another big appearance in the national spotlight.
It’s struggles with the Southern Nevada Health District (SNHD) over the fitness of the farm fresh meats and produce being served at a Farm-to-Fork Dinner last October were chronicled once again in the January edition of the Limbaugh Letter, a national newsletter published by conservative talk radio host Rush Limbaugh.
The brief piece entitled “No Picnic” featured a cartoon portrayal of the well-known painting “American Gothic” with its farmer and farmer’s wife subjects handcuffed in front of their rustic farm house and barn.
After a brief summary of the SNHD raid of the Quail Hollow dinner last October the piece asks: “What’s next? Fines for ‘unlicensed’ lemonade stands? Armed raids on Amish dairies? Banning bake sales and pancake breakfasts? Schools forbidding parents to pack their kids’ lunches? Oh, wait, they’re already doing that.”
