Mike Rowland

Mike Dale Rowland, age 70, died Friday, January 20, 2012 in Las Vegas, Nevada. He was born November 23, 1941 in Checotah, Oklahoma to Isham and Gloria Boatman Rowland. On January 27, 1980 he married Melissa Ann Wagner in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Mike grew up in Southern California. He moved to Florida, where he taught water skiing. He moved back to California when he started driving long haul trucks. He moved to Blue Diamond, where he met Melissa. They settled in Logandale in 1982, here he worked for Nevada Power. He enjoyed restoring and driving old cars and associating with others that were passionate about cars. He was a founding member of the Cactus Cruisers Car Club. He enjoyed his family, being outdoors, fishing, bird hunting and rock hounding.

Survivors include his wife Melissa of Logandale, NV; two daughters: Kristie Rowland of Logandale, NV; Jennifer (Gawain) Guedry of Las Vegas, NV; one granddaughter, Sadie Simmons; one grandson, Boayden Guedry and one sister, Roseann Carmellini of CA.

Memorial services were held Tuesday, January 24, 2012. at the Logandale LDS Stake Center. Friends and family are invited to sign the online guest book at www.moapavalleymortuary.com.
