Malinda Robison

Malinda Ruth Robison, age 65, died Thursday, January 26, 2012 at Dixie Regional Medical Center in St. George, Utah. She was born September 1, 1946 in Wise, Virginia to Estill and Bertha Mae Miller Clark. On December 11, 1971 she married John Zachary Robison in the St. George Temple.

Malinda grew up in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia. She graduated from J.J. Kelly High School in 1964. She graduated as a nurse from Wise County Vocational school. Malinda worked as a nurse in Harlon, Kentucky but soon moved to Las Vegas, Nevada to be near her sister. She worked at University Medical Center in the OB-GYN department and in the IMC at Valley Hospital in Las Vegas, NV. She attended Brigham Young University and was a nurse in the Student Healthcare Center. Malinda came back to Las Vegas and was working at U.M.C. when she became acquainted with John Robison, a Mercy Ambulance driver. After a 6 month courtship John and Malinda were married and soon moved back to John’s home town in Logandale, Nevada.

She enjoyed working in the yard, caring for their tropical bird, spending time with family and giving compassionate care to many people who had health problems. She worked side by side with her husband as they operated the Sears Catalog Store in Overton and later with the local newspaper. She will be remembered for her devotion to John and for her story telling talents.

Survivors include her husband, John of Logandale, NV; one sister, Alice Faye Ball (Thomas Jensen) of Las Vegas, NV and one brother, Estill (Sharon) Clark of Homewood, Alabama; and many special nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, February 1, 2012 at 11 a.m. at the Logandale 6th Ward Hinckley Chapel. Visitation will be from 9:30 – 10:30 a.m. prior to services at the chapel.
