The Educational Farm Foundation (EFF) Food Swap was held on Saturday, February 11, at the Old Overton Gym. The number of registered participants was more than double the number attending the last EFF food swap last November.

Among the food items that were swapped were plenty of backyard eggs, fresh and dried herbs, kefir, laundry soap, hand cream, and an amazing assortment of home canned goods. Each item was hand crafted, home grown, or foraged by the participants.

The variety was amazing, said EFF Board member Chris Green.

“We want to make sure that the residents of our valleys have the opportunity to see what other people are doing with their food,” Green said. “We really want to bring people together and inspire them with different ideas on what they can do with their food!”

The EFF is dedicated to helping people stay connected to the earth and helping people understand where their food, fiber and other products come from that are necessary to sustain their daily lives.

The next EFF food swap will be held in May at the Old Overton Gym.
