OBITUARY: Francis Black
Francis J. Black
Francis J. Black returned to his Father in Heaven Thursday, February 9, 2012. He was born July 30, 1929 in Kirtland, NM to Wm. Morley Black and Elda Jane Brown. He grew up in Kirtland and Blanding, UT. He served a mission for the LDS Church to the Central Atlantic States Mission from 1949-1951. He then served his country as a Marine from 1952-1954. On August 2, 1955 he married LaRaine Schetselaar in the Logan, Ut Temple.
They have lived in Salt Lake City, UT, San Diego, CA, St George, UT, Overton, NV and back to St George, UT.
He worked most of his life in the Auto Parts business and also for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the custodial department.
He was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints serving a full time mission and many stake and ward missions. He also held other callings in Scouting, Sunday school and Priesthood.
He loved the outdoors and spending time hunting, fishing and camping with family. He also loved yard work and gardening.
He is survied by his wife LaRaine Schetselaar of St George, UT. Two daughters, Vicki and Jannette of St George, UT, four sons Daniel of Stevenson, WA, Richard of Las Vegas, NV, John and Bill of St Gearge, UT. 26 grandchildren and 36 greatgrandchildren. He is preceded in death by his Father, Mother, Sister, Grandson and Greatgrandson.
Funeral services will be held Saturday February 18, 2012 at 11 a.m. There will be a viewing prior from 9-10:45 a.m. at the LDS Chapel at 2079 E 2450 S St George, UT.
