Can you say 44-3? That was the total runs scored by Boulder City vs. Virgin Valley over the two games played in Mesquite last week. There was so much scoring by the Eagles the newspapers didn’t even post a box score for the second game.
Huh, very interesting. In the first game the Eagles shut the Dawgs out 11-0 allowing two hits in the five innings. Howell was the winning pitcher for Boulder City.
In the second game Boulder City scored 33 runs while allowing the Dawgs just one hit and three walks for three runs. Nathan Hafen was three for three with four RBI’s and Michael Hernandez was three for three as well.
The wins give the Eagles the league title for the regular season and a first round bye in the upcoming league tournament hosted by Boulder City next week.
Boulder City is now 13-6 and 6-0 in league play.
Virgin Valley didn’t fare well at all last week as they also lost to Arbor View 12-0. Virgin Valley had three hits for the game. The Bulldogs are now 1-15 on the season in their worst season possibly ever.
