I want to take the opportunity to thank the hundreds of people in the community that opened their hearts, and their checkbooks, for the Roger Marquez carwash events and Soccer/BBQ benefit held on Saturday evening.

The line at the carwash held last Tuesday was non stop. And what a thrill it was to watch so many alumni soccer teammates, friends and family play soccer in Roger’s memory on Saturday.

Always, but especially during hard times like this, I am so proud to be a resident of Moapa Valley. I am humbled at the outpouring of love, support, donations, phone calls, cards and visits from members of this incredible community.

Most of all I want to tell Roger’s many friends who were responsible for organizing and carrying out these events how very proud I am of them. I am proud to be associated with such amazing people.

Roger was a one of a kind friend, son, brother, cousin and uncle. He will be dearly missed by all who had the priviledge of knowing him.
