Hospital CEO To Leave Mesa View

Kapua Conley

Mesa View Regional Hospital (MVRH) announced that Chief Executive Officer Kirkpatrick “Kapua” Conley has accepted a position as the CEO at Fallbrook Hospital, a 47-bed facility with a 93-bed skilled nursing facility in Fallbrook, California. Conley’s last day at Mesa View will be July 13.

“I am excited about this opportunity and the new experience, but am sad about leaving Mesa View, Mesquite and the Moapa Valley,” said Conley. “It’s been a true pleasure to be part of this hospital team and community for the past two years.”

“Kapua has been a strong leader, and has helped us accelerate the ways we are able to meet defined needs of Mesquite and surrounding communities,” says David Cook, chairman of the Board of Trustees for MVRH. “We are very sorry to lose him, but with his talent and energy it is understandable. He will surely ‘go places’ in the years to come, and we congratulate him.”

During Conley’s tenure, the hospital has made great strides in expanding the community’s access to primary care. This includes the recruitment of four new primary care physicians and three non-physician providers to the market, and with the Mesa View Medical Group, the opening of Quick Care clinics in Mesquite and Logandale. MVRH has received the Health Insight Quality award for 2009-2011, and is the only hospital in Nevada to have earned the quality distinction for three consecutive years.

“Mesa View has talented, dedicated leaders, employees and physicians , and I am confident they will continue to maintain and accelerate Mesa View’s growth, quality and patient satisfaction,” said Conley. “With the community’s ongoing support, the hospital will continue to be the core of the community’s physical and economic well-being, and grow to meet the needs of the local area.”

A national search for a new CEO is underway, and Board, Medical Staff and hospital leaders will be involved in the selection. Details will be announced as plans are finalized.
