Lake Mead Fishing Report (July 18, 2012)

NDOW- Sporadic striper boils are taking place during the early morning hours, but the fish seek deeper water as the daytime temperature heats up. Anglers are catching striped bass and catfish from Vegas Wash to Boxcar Cove and along the beaches north of the Hemenway launch ramp. In the Overton Arm, fishing has been good for largemouth and smallmouth bass, and small striped bass. The water level has dropped to 1,115 feet, a loss of nearly 20 feet since February. Boaters should use caution and watch for submerged rocks and other changes in underwater structure.
