Graph-X owner, Roxanne LaBeau recently opened the doors of her downtown Overton business to young crafters. For six weeks during November and December Holiday Craft Classes are being offered at the little pink house in Overton to those who wish to discover the magic of making their own ornaments, wreathes, stockings, candles, bells and cookies.
“I can hula hoop with mine,” “I have an angel halo,” “Not that Italian Christmas music, please – it’s too romantic” and “I glued my fingers together!” were soon heard coming from the craft room in the beautifully decorated shop.
A myriad of ornaments, bead necklaces, ribbons, scrunchy balls and eye balls were passed about and added to the wooden wreaths transforming them into reflections of their creators’ artistic souls.
It was not all play, however. While a cookie break was taken, a spelling and geography quizzing occurred and then back to the work table.
These classes for kids will continue for the next three Saturdays: Dec. 1 – Candles; Dec. 8 – Bells; and the final class on Dec. 15 – Cookies.
Call 397-6609 for the possibility of your child having the opportunity to work with his/her hands, mind and heart.
