The annual Alumni vs. Moapa Valley High School baseball fundraiser game will be this Saturday, March 2 at 5:00 p.m. at the MV High School baseball field.
For the past four years Shannon Phillipenas has organized this event to raise money for the Robison/Sandoval Scholarship fund. It has been a fun event as alumni muster their “skills and never forgotten talents” and go against the awesome and mighty Pirate’s high school baseball team. Cheering and “jeering” have both been heard as the game rolls into action with much fun and the most unpredictable outcomes. It is a fun time for the players and the spectators.
To add to the enjoyment of the evening a great display of the all-time favorite baseball foods and snacks will be available to buy: hamburgers, hot dogs, chips, chili, hot chocolate, donuts and other pastries, candy and soda.
Bring the family and the neighbors and come and enjoy a good ‘ol time of baseball, food and fun.
All proceeds from this event will go towards the scholarship. Shannon, and other MVHS Alumni baseball athletes and the Robison and Sandoval families, have established this scholarship in memory of BJ Robison and Shawn Sandoval. This Scholarship is intended to help baseball/softball athletes to continue their educational goals beyond high school.
