The Moapa Band of Paiutes Social Service Department will be holding its fifth annual Child Abuse and Neglect (CAN) awareness health fair and parade on Friday at the Tribal Building on the Paiute Reservation. The tribe is inviting businesses and members of the community to participate in the parade or to host a booth at the fair.
The day will begin at 7 a.m. with a community prayer and a Flag Raising ceremony performed by the Moapa Band of Paiute Veterans group.
The Health Fair and Rummage Sale will begin at 8:00 a.m. and run throughout the day. For information on hosting a booth at the Health Fair or a table at the Rummage Sale contact Laura Watters at 864-0407.
The parade will be held beginning at 10:00 a.m.
A lunch of hot dogs provided by the Paiute Travel Plaza will be served at noon. In addition, a chili and salsa cook-off will be held. Contact Watters if you are interested in competing in the cook-off event.
