Adam O'Dell

Adam Michael O’Dell was born February 8, 1983 and passed away Thursday, September 12, 2013. Adam was born and reared in Las Vegas, NV. He and his loving wife Eddelyn lived a short period in Overton.

Adam had beautiful blue eyes, a contagious laugh, and a great love for his family. He was a Staff Sergeant in the U.S. Army. He served four years in South Korea and one year in Afghanistan (2010-2011). He earned many awards for his work and service in Korea, Afghanistan, and in the United States. In December, Adam was awarded as a Lieutenant, Officer in the United States Army.

He received his Eagle Scout rank at age 13 and earned several Eagle Palms. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served a good mission in Paraguay, South America. Adam was an avid Harley Davidson rider. He loved to take road trips with his brothers Eric and Jerad. He was a true blue Dallas Cowboy fan. He was one of 12 brothers and sisters. He loved to give service to his family and all others that he could.

Adam is survived by his sweet wonderful wife Eddelyn, son Daniel Adam (age 2) and daughter Sarah Lyn (age 1); parents Richard and Lorraine O’Dell; siblings Christopher Cave, Michelle Taylor, Eric Cave, Alicia Carter, Ashton Cave, Jerad O’Dell, Aaron O’Dell, Tiffanie Gonzales, Brandy O’Dell, Elisa Redhouse and Karl O’Dell; 42 nieces and nephews and one great nephew that he dearly loves.

Adam loved and adored his family and served his country with all of his heart. Families are Forever.

Services will be held on Friday, September 20, 2013 at the LDS Stake Center at 6051 Dorrell at N. Jones and Dorrell in Las Vegas. Viewing will be held from 9 am to 10 a.m. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Interment will be at the Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Boulder City with services starting at 1:30 p.m.

    I served with Big O in Korea and he was truly a pleasure to work with, we butted heads but like brothers as we were. He will always be missed. My heart goes out to the family he left behind and his parents, no one should have to come back and suffer, PTSD is a war in it’s own and I hope we can get together and figure out how to cope with the tragedy of war and the mind war as we return. I served with Adam in 2011 in Afghanistan and was the first person from day one till the end of my tour that always made sure was always good, him and his peer group was the best people i have ever met, i am truly disheartened to know he still not spreading his joy and love about i truly miss him alot I think of him more than most, respect my fallen Angel. X
