LETTER: A Job Well Done!

Although our local law enforcement officers take a lot of negative criticism, I would like to take this opportunity to thank two of them: Officers Bradford and Benson.

On Monday, Sept 16, while my grandson was attending class at Moapa Valley High School, a sticky-fingered little thief decided he wanted my grandsons bike worse than my grandson did. Had this been a $75 Walmart special, it would have been a different story. But the bike is a custom competition trick bike and is valued at $1500.

Officer Benson took a report and school surveillance tape was reviewed. The two officers then went to work and by 1:30 PM on the very next day, the bike had been found. By 2PM it was back in the hands of my grandson and the thief was on his way to jail.

Stealing a bike of this value is looked at by the law as stealing a car, felony grand theft.

I know some people in the Valley don’t like our local officers but, regardless of who you are, when you need them they go above and beyond to help.

Let this incident be a warning to anyone who has thieving on their mind. You will be caught.

And again I say THANK YOU to Officers Bradford, Benson and the rest who are here to make our lives and property safe.

Dave Cooper
