I read with interest the story about the federal agencies’ actions regarding rancher Cliven Bundy (Bunkerville Rancher Prepares to Battle Feds Again For Land: Progress March 19, 2014). What does the Fed hope to gain from this?
They will likely spend a fortune to round up these cows- and to serve what purpose? To show their strength over a 70 year-old rancher and his family? To prove that they own this land and no one will stop them from doing what they want to do, where and when they want to do it? Is this really about a desert tortoise?
Is that really where our focus should be in this day and age? Ukrainians are fighting to maintain their own land and sovereignty over an armed insurgence of trained Russian soldiers. And here we are sending law enforcement in to round up cattle. Where are our priorities?
