Country western band Lonestar will be performing at the Clark County Fair on Friday night.

Tickets have been selling fast for the main event Clark County Fair concert featuring the country western band Lonestar. Lonestar will be performing on the Plaza Stage on Friday at 9:30 p.m.

There has been a lot of excitement among fans about this performance. But the members of the band are also looking forward to playing in Logandale this week. In an interview with the Progress last week, Lonestar guitar player Michael Britt said that playing at rural County Fairs is something that the band always looks forward to.

“Of course, we’ve played in all kinds of settings from small ballrooms to huge stadiums,” Britt said. “They are all a lot of fun. But in County Fairs it seems like we always see a lot of family coming out to the concert. You can have little kids there and they are getting into it along with their parents. Everyone is having fun and it makes it fun for us too.”

Britt says that the band is able to do things in a small setting that they can’t do in a large stadium.

“We are able to interact a lot more with the people in the audience,” he said. “And that makes the experience better for everyone. It is good for us to get out and conect with different types of people in various places. When you travel for a living, those kinds of connections keep it from getting old.”

Lonestar has been performing together for the past 22 years. So there is a lot of history to the group that can be drawn upon in their performance. And the Logandale performance will reflect that, Britt said.

“We started out together in our 20s,” Britt said. “So in a way we have kind of grown up in it together.”

To celebrate their anniversary, the band has recently released a new album entitled “Life As We Know It”. Britt said that they have enjoyed touring around the country introducing the new material to audiences.

“We will be making it fun at the Fair,” Britt said. “We’ll be playing some of the new songs from the album. But we will also do a lot of the hits through the years that are favorites.”

“And we even do a few things from more than just country music,” he added. “We usually end up with a rock medley that people will like.”

Tickets to the concert are still available to purchase at www.ccfair.com, the Fair office at the fairgrounds or at Lin’s Marketplace in Overton.
