First Solar, the company building a solar energy plant on the Moapa Indian Reservation, will be hosting a job fair at the Gold Coast Hotel on Thursday, April 24. The Job Fair is being held to recruit workers for the construction of a 250 Megawatt (MW) solar project to be built across the Interstate 15 from the Paiute Travel Plaza.
Moapa Southern Paiute Solar, LLC (a subsidiary of First Solar Electric, LLC) is the project owner and will construct the project using First Solar’s advanced photovoltaic (PV) thin film solar modules.
The project is the first utility-scale solar project on tribal land and will create approximately 400 construction jobs and 8 ongoing operations and maintenance positions. Except for skilled electrical work, Moapa Southern Paiute Solar will be hiring on a merit shop basis.
Available job opportunities include laborer and operator positions for Fork Lift Operator, Skid Steer Operator, Heavy Equipment Operator, Water Truck Driver, Crew Leads, General Labor and Construction Services. Jobs are also available for Project Site Positions including Spotter, Traffic Controller, Quality Technicians, Janitorial Staff, Safety Technicians and Project Administrator.
The Job Fair will be held on Thursday at 9:00 a.m., 12:00 noon and 5:00 p.m. in the Arizona Ballroom at the Gold Coast Hotel, 4000 West Flamingo Road in Las Vegas.
