The Moapa Valley Chamber of Commerce is planning a two-day Fall Car Show event on October 17-18 in Overton Park. Volunteers are being sought to help coordinate and put on this year’s show.

The 15th annual Moapa Valley Car Show is slated to take place Oct. 17-18 at the Overton Park. For the first time, the Moapa Valley Chamber of Commerce-sponsored event will run for two days in order to incorporate additional activities and fun.
“Our goal is to bring more businesses and people to the valley to spend their money and patronize our businesses,” Chamber Vice President and event organizer Theresa Holzer said.

The event will begin with a half day starting at 3 p.m. on Oct. 17 and will continue all day Saturday, Oct. 18 beginning at 7 a.m. Activities include a Classic Car Cruise-In, poker run, burn out contests, horseshoes and several family friendly games such as face painting, a rock wall and pet contest.
Holzer said that a professional car show DJ will be emceeing the event that has been widely advertised.
“We’re looking forward to having car clubs come from Utah, Las Vegas, Arizona and all over,” she said.

The car show will incorporate 25 classes and special awards including cash prizes. The vehicle pre-registration fee is $30; and day of registration is $35. All participants will receive a free t-shirt, breakfast and a goodie bag. Those interested are encouraged to visit www.moapavalleychamber.com for additional information.

The event will include several vendor booths. Those interested in participating as a vendor may reserve a spot by paying with a credit card online at the Chamber website listed above. Booth spaces are $65 each with a locals discount at $40. There is no charge for not-for-profit vendors. Booth registration runs until Oct. 17 at noon.

The Chamber is currently seeking community volunteers for the event to help with promotion and to lend on-hand help.
“Anything from just helping to participating as a volunteer that day, either man a booth or set up/take down,” Holzer said.
Those interested in volunteering may call Holzer at (702) 397-6200.
Businesses wishing to contribute are asked to donate new items that will be raffled off and given away as prizes.
