No One Asked Me But… (December 31, 2014)

By DR. LARRY MOSES

No one asked me but… America gets stranger and stranger. A few months ago, Americans gathered to protest the BLM’s invasion of Southern Nevada. A Southern Nevada rancher had refused to pay a grazing fee of $2,268. The BLM went to a federal court and had a judge tack on over a million dollars in fines. The BLM then hired a Utah cattle company to rustle the rancher’s cattle to help cover the fine. In the process, a number of the cattle were killed. Some of the cattle ended up on the interstate causing an accident.

To protect the rustlers, a military-like task force was sent to the outskirts of the ranch. Snipers were placed in the hills around the ranch house. BLM officials kidnapped the rancher’s son off a state highway and hauled him to Henderson where he was held overnight and released without charges being filed.

Communities were locked down and isolated by the orders of a mid-level BLM official. Lands were closed without court authorization. The BLM, in opposition to the Constitutional rights of the people who wished to protest the actions of the BLM, designated an area for the expression of free speech miles from where the event was actually taking place. They further restricted news coverage by screening the reporters allowed into the area. All newsmen had to report in with the BLM and could only go where they were escorted. The air space above the area was declared a no-fly zone so news helicopters could not film the rustling as it took place.

The only violence involved in the protest was perpetrated by BLM officials. When a BLM thug threw a woman, who was trying to stop a vehicle long enough to determine what was being stolen from the ranch area, to the ground, a nephew of the woman stepped between the attacking BLM official and was “tazed” three times. While a police dog was kicked, the attack was initiated by his handler.

The cattle were contained in a quickly constructed corral. There was no provision for feed or water and the state of Utah refused to accept them. Cows were separated from calves. At least two bulls were shot to death because they were too wild to herd. When the cowboys supporting the rancher rode to release the cattle, they were met by BLM officials who threaten to shoot them if they didn’t turn back.

They silently and non-violently rode to the gates of the corral demanding the release of the cattle. They were met by what appeared to be a mercenary. He sported a bandana on his head, camoflouge dress, wrap around dark glass, and an AR-15. He was backed by numerous BLM officials in full battle gear with weapons trained on the protesters. The above facts were ignored by the press as they made a major issue of the one protestor on a bridge with an automatic rifle. Cooler heads prevailed and the cattle were released.

The only laws broken were those broken by the BLM when they refused to abide by the laws established by the federal government under the Taylor Grazing Act. However, the rancher and the protesters were vilified by the press. The BLM and the FBI pledged to seek out the protestors and to prosecute them to the fullest extent of the law.

Contrast this with the demonstrations in Ferguson, Missouri, and New York City, New York. In Ferguson, a man robbed a convenience store and assaulted the shopkeeper. The criminal was later encountered by a police officer. In confronting the thief, the police officer was attacked. Fearing for his life, he shot and killed the criminal

Demonstrators, upset by the fact that the criminal was shot and killed, burned down a shopping center, upset and burned police cars, and rioted throughout the city.

A campaign of vilification against the police was spearheaded by Al Sharpton. Mr. Sharpton, who owes the government $4.5 million dollars in unpaid taxes, became the spokesman for the rabble in both cities.

There was no free speech zone imposed here. There was no press restriction and no no-fly zone. In fact the press and free speech was not only condoned, it was encouraged. The only roads closed were those closed by the rioters.

In New York City, a career criminal with over thirty arrests was, or was not, engaged in selling “loosies” outside a shop in New York. The shop owner called the police to have him removed from the front of his store. The man who refused to move and resisted arrest was taken to the ground by four policemen. He died as a result of this activity.

Again, demonstrators hit the streets. There was no free speech zone; there was no press restriction, and no no-fly zone invoked. While no buildings were burned, streets were blocked for hours. Protestors paraded chanting, “What do we want? Dead Cops. When do we want it? Now.”
Shortly thereafter, two police officers were assassinated.

The Mayor of New York, with Al Sharpton at his side, came out in support of the demonstrators. The media made heroes of those burning and looting.

While there have been a few arrests of demonstrators, who got out of hand, none of the looters or burners have been arrested. The criminal with the Ferguson strong-arm thief has not been charged as an accomplice in the robbery and assault. That fact that he lied to the police and press as to the circumstances of the killing of his criminal friend has not been addressed.

Contrast the leaders of the two events. The first is a rancher, who owes the government $2,268 in actual fees; and a million dollars in court-imposed penalties. The rancher felt he was defending the Constitutional rights of the American people. The second makes his living as a race baiter, owes the government $4.5 million dollars in back taxes, and is protecting the “rights” of known criminals.
Demonstrators in Bunkerville destroyed no property, harmed no civilians, attacked no law officers; and Senator Harry Reid called them “domestic terrorists.”

The rioters in the east burned and looted stores. They injured and killed police officers, and their leader is invited to the White House over 80 times.
Where is Harry’s indignation today?

Thought of the week…America will never be destroyed from the outside. If we falter and lose our freedoms, it will be because we destroyed ourselves.
-Abraham Lincoln
