Three Moapa Valley women with a common trade partnered to open Overton’s newest salon which they are calling Dyes N Dolls. Mary Black, Vicki Hall and McKenzie Staton, all formerly hair stylists at Leather & Lace, have opened shop at 280 S. Moapa Valley Boulevard between McDonalds and Law Powersports.
The salon offers hair styling, cut and color, manicures, waxing, facials and esthetician Stephan Duvall. Local vendors also contribute in selling merchandise such as purses by “Frosty”.
“I like our location,” Black said. “We’re more in the mix of things.”
Black attended the Euphoria Hair school in Las Vegas.
“I’ve always wanted to since high school,” she said of her dream of becoming a hairstylist. “I just finally did it.”
Black said she enjoys her profession because she feels it’s relaxing.
