The Moapa Valley High School Girls Flag Football team is getting better as the season moves along.

Last week the team travelled to Spring Valley where the Grizzlies beat the Pirates 40-21. The 21 points were the most the Pirates had scored this season up until that game.

Freshman Alexis Schraft used her speed to score all three touchdowns with a 60 yard run, 55 yard run and a 30 yard reception. She also scored an extra point, as well as quarterback Hattie Gordon.

On Friday the Pirates hosted Durango where the Pirates beat the Trail Blazers 34-6 for the Pirates’ second win of the season. Schraft would score three times, twice rushing and the third on a reception from Gordon. Brighton Crawford scored twice on runs.

Moapa Valley will travel to Legacy on Thursday and to Palo Verde on Friday.
