David Lee

David Lee, age 35, died Saturday, January 24, 2015 in Moapa, Nevada. He was born June 5, 1979 in Phoenix, Arizona. He is the eldest son of Michele Patrice Morgan and the (Late) Nathan Lee.

David lived most of his life on the Moapa Indian Reservation. He graduated from Moapa Valley High School in 1997. He then served in the US Army Reserve, with Basic Training in Fort Benning, GA, then four years in Oahu, HI in infantry. He was proud that he served his country. He was an active Veteran of the Southern Paiute Veterans Association.

David continued his education at ATI and then worked as an HVAC Installation/Repairman. As a young man he fought fires as a crew member of the Southern Paiute Wildlife Fire Fighters. Recently he had been working for the Solar Plant under construction on the Reservation. He loved his family very much and was always willing to help his loved ones, especially his two nieces, they were his world. He will be greatly missed.

He is survived by his three brothers: Chava Lee, Fabian Lee and Deloyd Henry, nieces: Tha’lia and Amaya Lee; great uncle, Leonard Henry, Sr and great aunt, Rephenelda Levi.

Funeral services will be held Friday, January 30, 2015 at 3 p.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints, Moapa Chapel. Visitation will be one hour prior at the chapel. A traditional Indian Sing will begin at 5 p.m. at the Moapa Tribal Building. Interment will follow Saturday morning at dawn in the Moapa Indian Cemetery.

  1. Dear Michelle, Fabian, and Chava, Richard and I are so sad to hear about David’s passing. We wanted to come and see you in the worst way! What a lovely, handsome young man! Now he is in Evelyn and Nathan’s arms, once more. Please tell the other guys to be careful! They have many good things to accomplish and life goes so fast. It was our great privilege to have been so close to your family, as our children were all growing up together. you are ever in our prayers. Love, Richard and Lori and the Pedersen Tribe: We now have 3 son-in-laws, one daughter-in-law, and 19 grandchildren……so far.
