I read an article last week in a Mesquite newspaper in which the ‘Vial for Life’ program was being expanded in Scenic and Beaver Dam, Arizona and in other businesses in Mesquite. It sounds like a very good idea about placing your medicine list inside a standardized vial and then putting it into the refrigerator where a paramedic could find it.
The nation-wide plan suggested using a baggie. But the paramedic, Spenser Lewis, who was given the task to implement it, suggested the vial, which makes sense, since other items can be placed in a baggie in the refrigerator and the vial would stand out.
I was just wondering if our local paramedics have considered it as well and if an implementation plan is in the works for our area.
