Moapa Valley Progress
The winter high school sports seasons have concluded and the sounds of spring sports descended on the Moapa Valley High School athletic fields last week. Practices began last week for MVHS Baseball and Softball, as well as Track and Field.
This week Baseball and Softball will both be on the road playing in season opening tournaments. The Varsity Baseball team will play at Eldorado High School where they will start their season Thursday against Desert Pines in the Sun Devil classic. The game time is 5:15 at Eldorado in Las Vegas.
The Lady Pirate Varsity Softball team will travel to Virgin Valley on Thursday where they will begin participation in a weekend-long tournament. They will start off on Thursday at 2:00 p.m. against Elko High School. The Girls will also play on Friday at 12:00 noon against Spring Creek.
Members of the MVHS Track and Field team will also be travelling this week. On Friday these athletes will go to Cheyenne High School in Las Vegas for the new-comers meet. Only athletes who have not run in a meet before in their careers are invited to this one. The meet starts at 3 p.m. Friday.
