LETTER: In Loving Memory of Donna Serneck

A few weeks ago quietly and suddenly a longtime resident, Donna Serneck of the Moapa Valley area, passed away unexpectedly.

She lived in both Overton and Logandale for many years and committed herself to aiding others to live here by being a passionate realtor. She worked for Keller William’s, Coldwell Banker and the last several years for Foremost Realty. She loved the Valley and committed herself to assist others to find permanence here.

I met her and Randy years ago and became a long distance friend with them both initially! Her passions were taking care of her desert landscapes (yard work), and loving her dog Patches dearly and real estate. She indeed enjoyed the simpler life of the area as she minded her own business, but cared enough to be concerned. Initially she would always worry about my wanderings in the deserts, the Mormon Mesa, and Valley Of Fire SP. She would always call me to make sure I would return safely, eventually she got used to my exploring. Donna would always tease me, saying she knew when I was in town, when she saw the dirtiest car in Lin’s parking lot!

She had a very simple way of making you understand that sometimes your problems were really not that great, compare to what life is truly about. Her philosophy was to live each day, as worrying about things, would not change matters, so enjoy every day. I am sure there are many a current resident that can indeed thank her, for their now enjoying their “Simpler Life” in the Valley of Fire Region.

I will miss her kind words of wisdom and will always remember her for aiding me to become a local. That she did by finding me permanence here, to enjoy the sunny days and this beautiful area known as Moapa Valley, nearly 15 years ago!

It is not how long you live your life, but how you live your life, she indeed lived her life aiding many to relocate here. May her family and friends be comforted in knowing that many now living here were due to her professionalism, care and courtesy!

May she rest in peace in her new Home in the Heavens above!
