The Ron Dalley Theater overflowed with talent on Thursday, May 21 as Moapa Valley High School seniors performed for their peers in an end of year talent show. Master of Ceremonies Garret O’Toole introduced each act and kept the event running smoothly along with several stage hands.

First to grace the stage was a group dance made up of five girls jamming out to the Spice Girls hit “Tell Me What You Want.” All goes well until five boys crash the party with Backstreet Boys tune “I Want It That Way.” The two groups finish the act dancing together in a crowd pleasing male/female clash.

The talents of McKay Wilson were heard next as she sang and played the guitar. Wilson sang about going out into the world and the memories left behind at home. The song would have struck a chord in any graduating seniors in the audience.

Daniel Lewis and Cheyenne Harris sang a beautiful duet that O’Toole described as “pitch perfect.
Steven Wilson performed a fortune-telling act. He invited science teacher Lisa Cornwall to have her fortune read in front of the audience. After gazing into his “crystal ball” he “predicted” that she has two kids that attend MVHS, drawing a laugh from the crowd.

Next up he asked for pretty female volunteers ages 16 and up. One brave girl took the stage and Wilson strategically moved his chair closer to hers to predict her future which turned out to be a kiss from a handsome young man. Unfortunately for Wilson, his prediction did not immediately come true.

Another musical act was performed, this time by Trenton Robison and Marshall Potts who clapped the rhythms of a piece appropriately titled “Clapping Music.”

In conclusion Austin Leavitt and Mike Otero drummed in pitch black with the use of glowing drumsticks. The two took turns pounding beats and occasionally creating rhythms together.

All in attendance were entertained by the many talents volunteered by MVHS students.
