Albert Carl “Al” Biederman, age 95, passed away Thursday, July 16, 2015 at his home in Overton, Nevada. He was born December 25, 1919 in Cedar City, Utah to Albert Carl Sr. and Mary Elizabeth Rushton Biederman. On September 13, 1958 he married Phyllis Lawrence in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Al grew up in Cedar City. He served in the US Navy Armed Guard during WWII. After living in Las Vegas for a short time, he and Phyllis moved to Overton, Nevada where he raised his family. He owned and operated a bait and tackle shop, The Overton Sports Shop, for several years. He was always passionate about hunting and fishing and loved meeting and talking to other sportsmen. He later worked as a purchasing agent for Nevada Power and retired from there after 18 years. He enjoyed gardening, and making his own fishing lures and flies and especially all things outdoors..

Survivors include his wife, Phyllis; one son and two daughters: Susan (Lindsey) Merrill of St. George, UT; John of Overton; Sandy of Overton; daughter in law, Kathy Biedermann of Snowflake, AZ; 13 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren and several great great grandchildren and one sister, Elizabeth Jane “Jimmy” Heyborne of Lander, WY. He was preceded in death by one son, Larry (Snowflake, AZ).

Graveside services will be held Wednesday, July 22, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. (MST) at the Cedar City Cemetery.
