LETTER: An Attempt to Erase History

So if the removal of a version of the Confederate Flag will stop young unstrung, unsprung murderous racists from killing innocent people, will the young, budding, radical kids, who have not yet fully come into their own, straighten out and not develop into such violent young adults if they never in their lifetimes catch a glimpse of any version of that flag? Absurd. Will the complete eradication of any and all versions of that flag cure our country of racism? Think about it.

The last school I went to was in Ore City, Texas, and has all of their sports teams named the “Rebels”. The little mustached mascot has crossed belts of extra shells and big, holstered pistols. The school colors are black and gold. So their version of this flag is the same as the Confederate Flag, with the exception of the colors. No red. Yet our little area has no murderous psychopathic unstrung youth. At least, no more than anywhere else.

The young man who killed these latest 9 people had a prominently displayed t-shirt from Gold’s gym. What? No boycotts on them?
He had an American flag, too. Will we next begin to remove them? Who does this make sense to? Where is the logic?

And, another thing… before ye in the North get too snooty and snotty against we in the South, I must remind you. Look into history. All of the textile and clothing mills in the north who provided employment to the northerners, who made clothes and goods for all of us, were 100% dependent on the southerners to send raw product to them. Cotton and some of their food. And no, I am not condoning their methods. But if we could ask those Northern factory workers about their 12-14 hour work days inside those oppressive buildings with no air circulating and not making even close to a living wage and without a specialized flag to represent their plight, I bet they would tell us they all felt enslaved. It’s the same saga. The “haves” had, and the “have-nots” had no choice.
