The young displaced former newsroom employee who shot the reporter and the cameraman dead on the spot, was never identified by color. Why is this? Is it because the deceased were not of ‘color’? If the positions were reversed, two black people killed by some disgruntled peer, we all know that we would be continually beaten about the head and shoulders with the sound bite that tells and retells ad nauseam and infinitum, the colors of everybody involved. Is the shooter less culpable because of his race? Are we less black if we are the aggressors? Are the victims somehow to blame because of their whiteness?
I would not have needed to mention this, except it keeps happening now. Remember last year when, in New York City, a young ‘innocent’ black man shot to death two law officers who dared to confront him? No mention of anyone’s race. I believe the officers were a little less white than some of us: one Hispanic and one Asian. But still, the race of the shooter was not mentioned, even though he is clearly visible in the photos. Black. Just putting it out there.
Now, just this past week, a 6-year-old little white boy was gunned down and killed, his father wounded, in Louisiana, by two black officers, and never once in all of the reports did they say the words ‘black officers’ or ‘white’ innocent blameless child. So, I’m wondering why we are putting up with all of this and not emailing or calling our left-leaning, one-sided, blinded by political correctness, reporting system, that’s supposed to be bringing the news to us in an unbiased manner. By this standard, when I shoot another intruder in my home, will I automatically be more guilty because of my whiteness. Maybe I can balance that by being old, female, partially disabled, and having a Hispanic surname. I hope so.
