Boys Northern IA

Elko is 4-2 overall and is one of two teams who haven’t played a league game. The Indians won their first three games: Wooster 75-50, Reno 56-37, Damonte Ranch 85-48. They then went to Salt Lake City where their two losses came to East High School 59-44 and Layton Christian Academy 70-62. They finished their three day trip against Uintah and came away with a 61-57 win.
Eric Klekas, a junior, is the Division IA scoring leader with 32 points a game. Dustin Baum is averaging 13 points and Kyrin Allen is averaging 12 points a game for the Indians.

Lowry is 2-0 in league play and 3-3 overall. The Buckaroos beat Fernley in overtime 64-64 last week. They hosted Fallon and beat the Green Wave 48-46. Lowry participated in the Galena tournament and lost all three games. They lost to River Valley California 59-47; McQueen of Reno 44-40; and Galena 64-46. They beat Reno in their first game of the season.
Nathon Lutzow is averaging 19 points a game and 11 rebounds for the Buckaroos. Jared Taylor is averaging 11 points.
Spring Creek has won a league game and is 5-4 overall. They started their season in the Lake Meade Holiday Classic where they played the Pirates right out of the shoot. They beat Moapa Valley 48-29 on December 3. West Wendover beat them 40-39 as well as the Meadows 78-56. They finished their trip to Las Vegas with a win over the host Lake Meade Academy 56-47.
They beat Truckee a week later 50-44. They travelled to West Wendover and avenged their loss in Vegas 52-46. They lost to Homedale, Idaho 66-59; then beat Columbia, Idaho 58-24.
Ryan Knutson is the Spartans leading scorer with 16 points a game.

Fernley is 2-1 in league play and 5-4 overall. Zach Burns is the Vaqueros leading scorer with 17 points a game as a sophomore.
Fernley started the season against Yerington and were beaten 60-48. They played in the Lake Meade Holiday tournament where they went 2-2. They beat Lincoln County 42-32 and Australia 78-38. They were beaten by The Meadows School 38-17 and West Wendover 49-47.
They beat South Tahoe last week 67-58 and lost to Lowry in double overtime 64-62. They beat Dayton at Dayton 57-40 and Lovelock 58-48.

Fallon has started the season with a record of 3-4 overall and 1-1 in league play. The Green Wave travel south to play in the Legacy tournament and lost to Mojave in the first game of their season 56-34. They beat a team from Australia 41-37 then lost to Canyon View from Cedar City, 63-51.
In their first league game they lost to Lowry 48-46 then beat Dayton 60-36. Last week they were beaten by Division III Lovelock 58-51.
Clay Davidson led the team in scoring with 15 points a game and 11 rebounds per game. Dylan Ridenour is averaging 14 points per game.

Sparks is struggling this year with a 1-5 record. They haven’t played a league game yet. The Railroaders only win came in their first game against Wooster 56-54. Since then they have lost to Reed 90-50, Yerington twice, 48-28 then 53-48. Damonte Ranch 40-38 and Lovelock 46-33.
Matthew Longland is their leading scorer with 9 points a ballgame.
Truckee is 2-6 overall to start the season. The Wolverines started the season with a win against Pyramid Lake 59-36 then lost six in a row to Lassen 64-47, Incline 74-45, Bear River of California 72-39, and Spring Creek 50-44 in their first league game of the season. They lost to Quincey 73-72 and Delta of California 65-55 last week before beating Ben Holt College Prep from California 66-48.
Sophomore Gabe Cruz is their leading scorer with 10 points per game average.

South Tahoe is struggling with a 2-5 record to start the season overall and are 0-1 in league play. The Vikings started the season with a win against Foothill of California 60-50. They then lost five in a row, Roseville 64-52, Vista del Lago 72-63, Casa Roble 75-62.
They lost their first league game to Fernley 67-58 then to Union Mine 52-36.
They won the game over Damonte Ranch last week 65-43.

Dayton is 3-7 to start the season. Their wins have been against Excel Christian 50-41, Owyhee 64-31 and Silver Stage 46-27. The Dust Devils have lost two league games to Fallon 60-36 and Fernley 57-40. Other loses came to Whittel 83-48, North Tahoe 50-35, Incline 75-51 and Lovelock 51-41.
Dayton is led by Josh Riders with 14 points per game and Johnathon Ply who averages 11 points a game.

Girls Northern IA

Fallon is off to an undefeated season at 7-0 overall and 2-0 in league play. The Green Wave beat Lowry 61-35 and Dayton 64-21 in league play.
Their other wins came against Douglas 65-54, McQueen 62-50, Incline 49-30, Riverbank 57-22 and Lassen 72-50.
As a team they are averaging 61 points a game. Freshman Leilani Otuafi leads the team with 17 points a ball game. Teammate Megan McCormick a senior is averaging 16 points per game.

Spring Creek is 3-1 overall and 1-0 in league play. They beat Sparks in their only league game so far 51-7. Other wins came against Incline 45-38 and to Riverbank 55-28. Their lone loss came to Damonte Ranch 56-31.
Johanna Marcille is the Spartans leading scorer with 12 points per game.

Truckee is 3-1 overall and hasn’t played a league game yet. Their one loss came against Bear River 44-32 and their wins against Quincy 48-39, Delta 50-28 and Ben Holt 21-15.
Sydney Mock leds the team in scoring with 16 points per game.

Lowry is 3-3 overall and 1-1 in league play. League loss came against Fallon 61-35 and their league win came against Fernley 51-21. They have lost to Reno 81-41 and Douglas 43-39 both division I schools. Their wins came against Lovelock 43-25 and Spanish Springs 48-46.
Jillian Albright leds the team in scoring with 9 points per game.

Elko is 1-0 a league game against sparks 63-25.

Fernley is 3-5 overall and 1-2 in league play. Their league win came against Dayton 44-23. Their two league losses came against South Tahoe 38-30 and to Lowry 51-21. Wins came against Yerington 35-24 and Riverbank 35-23. Their other losses were to Incline 38-30, Lassen 48-22 and Lovelock 49-35.
Leading scorer is Grace DeLeon with 6 points per game.

South Tahoe is 1-0 in league play and 1-4 overall. They beat Fernley 38-30 in league play then lost to Incline 35-22, Galena in overtime 48-44, Casa Roble 53-32 and to Damonte Ranch 58-29.
Their leading scorer is Bailey Barcellos with 8 points per game.

Dayton is 0-2 in league play and 3-9 overall. The Dust Devils have lost to Fallon 64-21 and Fernley 44-23 in league play. Their wins have come against Lone Pine 36-32, Whittell 59-47 and Virginia City 41-18.
Losses include Lovelock twice 53-35 and 37-22, Yerington 53-41, Battle Mountain 72-46, White Pine 44-12, Fall River 65-31, and West Wendover 57-49.
Their team leader in scoring is Angala Sikora with 19 points per game.

Sparks has not won a game yet. They have a 0-4 overall record and a 0-3 league record. Their league loses have come against Spring Creek 51-7 and Elko 63-25. Their other losses have come against McQueen 63-6 and Yerington 54-24.
