LETTER: 2nd Amendment Foes

There is a reason the 2nd amendment is federal and gun laws are state. For our people who are running for Senate and President to be discussing their intentions to widen their federal control over our states’ rights to citizen gun laws is ludicrous at the very least. Repeated regulations over their old unenforceable gun lobby rulings will just be further wasting our tax dollars, and historically, none of them have performed as planned. Why doesn’t somebody smarter than me see this, and mention it out loud, in an arena broad enough to make a difference? It’s baffling to me.

To quote the 10th amendment: “The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.” Meaning that any ruling or provision not mentioned specifically by the Constitution is, by definition, unconstitutional.

Am I the only one remaining in possession of a copy of this Constitution? If not, why do I remain one of the few who understand it? It’s not hard, people. And it’s your money they’re wasting, and it’s your rights they’re abridging.

Now, to quote James Madison again: “The powers delegated by the proposed Constitution to the federal government are few and defined. Those which are to remain in the state governments are numerous and indefinite.”

These “powers” include gun regulations. Those are they which are supposed to be set up to provide for my federally guaranteed right to bear arms, not to remove that right from me.
Haven’t we discussed this before?
