Give Local Merchants A Try
When it comes to holiday shopping, many people immediately think of big box stores and giant shopping malls. But shopping locally from small businesses not only helps the local economy, but it can also save time, money and provide a more personal shopping experience. It also may help you become a holiday star with gifts and décor that are unique and even one-of-a-kind.

Local businesses have some great offerings that are worth checking out this holiday season before leaving town to shop. Some have great gifts, some have holiday decorations, some have food and treats, but the one thing they all have in common is great customer service on a very personal level.
So for a great holiday experience this year without the frustration of huge crowds and giant gas bills, try shopping local. You may find exactly what you’re looking for right in your own backyard.

Your Own Brand of Fashion
For that unique holiday gift with a distinctly personal touch, Xtreme Stitch is the perfect place to go. The print and embroidery shop offers specialty items that are custom made for anyone. The shop itself sells shirts, caps, jackets, sweatshirts, duffle bags and other items. But they also have an online catalog with thousands of clothing item choices that can be ordered, sometimes cheaper than you can find online.

The shop can digitize almost any picture or personal logo, including children’s art or hand drawn items, for placement on clothing. They scan the picture in and then digitize it and reproduce it on as many items as you want, even if it is only one. There is a one time digitizing fee of $10, but after that, they store your logo or picture and you can go back and reorder as often as you want for no extra fee.
During the holiday season rush, please allow 5-7 business days for the store to complete your order whenever possible.
Employee Tammy Barrett said, “This is a great place to get custom one-of-a-kind gifts with personal attention and great customer service.”
The embroidery shop recently outgrew its former home next to the Inside Scoop, and has found a new one at 196 S Moapa Valley Blvd, Suite 1, right next door to Infowest. To celebrate their move, the store is holding an open house with fellow newcomer Fidelity National Title on December 6 from 4-6 pm. Everyone is invited to come and check out these two new additions to the shopping center and enjoy some refreshments.

Boutique-style Service
If you are looking for that perfect item of clothing or the perfect accessory for a jewelry lover; Jasmine’s Boutique in downtown Overton is the place to go. Jasmine’s has a wide variety of new clothing and handbags that are budget-friendly. They also carry earring-racks and racks of earrings and necklaces that are reasonable priced and ready to add a perfect touch to any outfit.
“Come in and see the great dresses and other clothing items we have and enjoy the friendliest customer service around,” said owner Jasmine Dale. “You can get great buys without ever having to leave town.”
Jasmine’s has some holiday specials as well. Every $30 purchase comes with a free gift card and every purchase gets free holiday gift wrap.
“That way you can come in and find the perfect item and leave with it wrapped and ready to go straight under the tree,” said Jasmine’s mom, Linda Dale, who helps her with the store.
Jasmine’s is located at 289 Moapa Valley Blvd and is open most days.
