MVHS Track & Field Competes At Mojave

Moapa Valley Progress

The Moapa Valley High School Track and Field team travelled to Mojave High School on Thursday and Friday, where they competed against Mojave and Boulder City.
In the girls event Moapa Valley finished third with 30 points. Mojave won the event with 70 points while Boulder City finished second with 61 points.

Caressa Solis and Erika Baldwin finished in a fourth place tie with times of 14 seconds in the 100 meters.
Baldwin finished third in the 200 meters with a time of 29.5.
Hannah Williams finished fourth in the 400 meters with a time of 1:08.8.
Ashlyn Western placed third in the 1600 meters with a time of 6:29.
Daesy Parra finished finished fourth in the 3200 meters with a time of 15:04.
Natalie Mills won the 100 meter hurdles with a time of 17.5. She also won the 300 meter hurdles with a time of 53.0.
Mariah Mendoza finished fourth in the shotput with a throw of 30-01.5. She placed third in the discus with a throw of 76-02.
Luisa Thiemann placed second in the long jump with a jump of 12-10.

On the boy’s side Greg Morrissey finished tied for fourth in the 100 meter with a time of 11.6, 110 meter hurdles with a time of 19.7 and third in the 300 meter hurdles with a time of 47.9.
Nathaniel Brill placed third in the 800 meters with a time of 2:20.9.
Jarrick Stastny finished third in the 1600 meters with a time of 5:27.9.
Isiah Fairchild placed second in the 3200 meters with a time of 11:58.8. Stastny finished third with a time of 11:59.2 and Evan Conger fourth with a time of 12:18.9.
Josh Leavitt placed second in the discus with a throw of 108-05.
Taylor Landini placed third in the high jump with a height of 5-02 while Garrison Draper finished fourth with a jump of 5-00.
Josh Lee finished second in the pole vault with a vault of 11-02 and third in the triple jump with a leap of 36-01.

On Friday they travelled to Arbor View High School for a 27 team Arbor View Invitational. Only the top three athletes from each team in each event could participate.
Josh Lee finished fourth as the highest finisher for the boys in the pole vault with a vault of 12-00. Ashlyn Western finished tenth in the 800 meters with a time of 2:38.13 and eighth in the 1600 with a time of 5:48.24. Natalie Mills finished seventh in the 300 meter hurdles with a time of 49.41.

This week the Pirates will travel to Cheyenne Tuesday then Boulder City on Friday.
