MVHS Track Travels To Two Meets

The Moapa Valley High School Track and Field teams travelled to Cheyenne High School in Las Vegas on Tues. Mar. 28, where they competed against Cheyenne and Del Sol.
On the boys’ side, Del Sol won the meet with a score of 89 points. Moapa Valley placed second with a score of 56.5. Cheyenne finished third with a score of 40.5 points.

Cheyenne won the girls side with a score of 65 points. Moapa Valley again finished second with a score of 54 points. Del Sol finished third with a score of 52 points.
Individually the Pirates finished in the top four events with Greg Morrisey a fourth-place finish in the 200 meters with a time of 23.91.

Three Pirates placed in the top four in the 800 meters. Nathaniel Brill finished first in a time of 2:17.15. Jerrick Stasny finished second in a time of 2:22.08. Grandy Call finished fourth with a time of 2:26.34.
Stastny finished first in the 1600 meters with a time of 5:12.75 and Brill finished fourth in the same event with a time of 5:32.27.

Stastny finished second in the 3200-meter run with a time of 11:29.1.
Morrissey finished fourth in the 110 meter hurdles with a time of 20.8. Garrison Draper finished third in the 300 meter hurdles with a time of 48.84.

Josh Leavitt finished fourth in the shotput with a personal record of 33-5. He also finished first in the discus with a throw of 110-05. Derek Pace finished second in that event with a throw of 103-04. McKay Raban finished fourth with a throw of 84-06.
Draper finished third in the high jump with a jump of 5-04.

Moapa Valley finished with the top four finishers in the pole-vault. Josh Lee finished first with a vault of 12-06, Dillon Clove finished second at 8-06, Yadon Witsken finished third 8-00 and Luke Hauver finished fourth with a vault of 7-06.

Clove also finished third with a jump of 35-01 in the triple jump while Lee finished fourth with a jump of 34-09.

On the girl’s side Luisa Thielemann finished second in the triple jump with 26-08, and second in the long jump with a leap of 13-01. Hanna Berg finished fourth in the long jump with a 10-08 jump.
Rita Rodgers won the girls’ Pole Vault with 5-06.
Mariah Mendoza finished third in the discus with a throw of 83-02.
Lillian Leavitt finished fourth in the 300 hurdles with a time of 23.08.
Ashlyn Western placed fourth in the 3200-meter run with a time of 14:17.93.
Shelby Olsen won the 1600 meters with a time of 6:15.92 and Andi Hillstead finished second with a time of 6:32.39.

Western also finished first in the 800 meters with a time of 2:42.69, Matilda Thompson finished third 2:49.03 and Olsen finished fourth with a time of 2:49.39.
Western won the 400 meters with a time of 1:06 while Bailey Bunker finished fourth with a time of 1:08.
The teams travelled to Boulder City on Friday for the Ron Resler Invitational. The Moapa Valley boys finished in seventh place with a score of 37.5. The girls finished fifth with 58 points.

Individual top four finishers included: Josh Lee who won the pole vault with a vault of 12-06; Natalie Mills who placed fourth in the 300 m hurdle with a time of 48.84 and third in the 100 meter hurdles with a time of 17.26; Western who finished fourth in the 400 meters with a time 104.13.
