The Moapa Valley High School Swim Team traveled to the Multigenerational Outdoor Competition Center in Henderson last week to compete against Valley High School. Because the team usually races in indoor pools, the conditions at the event had the potential to create additional challenges for the Pirate team.
MVHS senior Anna Stratton reported, however, that she enjoyed the experience. “We swim outdoors [for practices], so the air was familiar,” Stratton said.
The team of Samuel Jolley, Chase LaCroix, Nathaniel Thompson, and Tyler Holmes started off the competition by taking second place in the Men 200 Yard Medley Relay. Their time was 2:07.22.
In the Women 200 Yard Freestyle, Alexis Sawyer took first place at 2:40.45. Jaci Holmes placed second with a time of 2:43.44. In third place, with a time of 3:09.48, was Emma Walker.
