MVHS Track & Field Travels To Boulder City

By DAVE BELCHER

Moapa Valley Progress

The Moapa Valley High School Track and Field teams travelled back to Boulder City last week, where they participated in a dual meet with the Eagles. It was a little strange that the Eagles and Pirates would dual each other and not have a third or fourth team in the mix. Boulder City would win both, as the boy’s events saw the Eagles outscore Moapa Valley 85-69 and the girls finished 75-70 in favor of the Eagles.
Despite the team losses, several Pirate individual athletes finished in the top three of their events. Cambree Pulsipher finished second in the 100 meters with a time of 13.5 and third in the 200 meters with a time of 30.6.

Caressa Solis finished third in the 100 meters with a time of 13.9.
Natalie Mills finished first in the 200 meters with a time of 28.8, the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 16.4 and the 300-meter hurdle with a time of 51.4.
Louisa Thielemann finished second in the 200 meters with a time of 29.8 and second in the long jump with a jump of 13-07.

Bailey Bunker finished third in the 400 meters with a time of 1:09.1.
Ashlyn Western finished first in the 800 meters and the 1600 meters with a time of 2:39 and 5:41 respectively. Shelby Olsen finished third in the 800 meters with a time of 2:47.
Emma Thompson finished third in the 3200 meters with a time of 15:35.
Mariah Mendoza finished first in the shotput with a personal record of 31 feet 1 inch; and first in the discus with a throw of 87-01, also a personal record.

The boy’s competition had Gregg Morrissey finish second in the 100-meters with a time of 11.5,
Cameron Powers finished second in the 200 meters with a time of 26.1. Todd Anderson finished third in the same event with a time of 26.4.
Nathaniel Brill won the 400 meters with a time of 53.6. Garrett German finished third in the same event with a time of 1:00.

Garrison Draper finished second in the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 20.5 and in the 300-meter hurdles with a time of 47.0.
