3A South – Sunrise
Virgin Valley at Clark
Virgin Valley was a favorite in this game. But it turned out as the biggest upset in the young season this far. The Dawgs weren’t just beat they were dismantled, 49-26.

Aquantay Morris was a one man wrecking crew for Clark, as he ran for 143 yards and two touchdowns on 17 carries then caught 4 passes for 2 more touchdowns and 95 yards for 238 total yards on the night.
The Dawgs were never even in this game as Morris started the game with two of his catches for touchdowns. The first from 40 yards away and the second 20. Cresent Crandal put the Dawgs on the board with 2:29 left in the first quarter with a 42 yard run. Kobe Mosley ended the first quarter with a 9 yard run to give the Chargers a 19-7 lead starting the second quarter.

After another 40 yard touchdown pass by Clark, Jayden Perkins scored from a yard away for a 27-13 Clark lead. Easton Jensen scored for the Dawgs when he caught a 23 yard pass from Cade Anderson cutting the Charger lead to 27-20.
But that would be the closest the Dawgs would get. Isaiah Bigby caught a 28 yard pass followed by Morris and a 40 yard touchdown run.

Virgin Valleys final score came from a 25 yard interception with 2:10 left in the third quarter. Morris then finished the game with a 4 yard run.
Virgin Valley finished with 236 yards of total offense. Clark finished with 464 yards with 187 yards rushing and 277 yards passing.

Pahrump Valley at Chaparral
The Cowboys tied up the Trojans with a 34-6 win at Chaparral. Chaparral held a 21-6 lead at halftime before finishing the game with two touchdowns in the fourth quarter. Pahrump Valley scored first on a one yard run to start the second quarter.
Chaparral finished with 399 yards of total offense while Pahrump Valley finished with just 153.

Del Sol at Cimarron-Memorial
The Dragons were beaten by the Spartans 42-19. The Dragons started by returning the opening kick-off 80 yards for the touchdown. The Spartans scored the next two touchdowns on a 1 yard run and the 25 yard run for 12-6 lead.
Taariq Flowers then showed his power and speed scoring from 65 yards away tying the game. Marcus Poole caught a 26 yard touchdown from George Tribble and Jordan Morwood scored for the Spartans from 62 yards out for a 28-12 lead with five minutes remaining in the first half.
Del Sol finished their scoring for the night when Barry Williams caught an 11 yard pass for a touchdown to cut the lead to 28-19.
The Spartans scored twice in the second half, a 4 yard run and a 20 yard run.
Del Sol had 287 yards of total offense, 193 yards on the ground and 94 in the air. Cimarron finished with 524 yards of total offence 449 rushing. Del Sol is 0-2 so far and will host Clark this week.

3A South – Sunset
Desert Pines at Arbor View
The Jaguars hit a buzz saw last Friday night and were shut out for a second week in a row, this time by Arbor View, 51-0. Desert Pines gained only 103 yards of total offense: 46 yards on the ground on 25 carries and 57 yards in the air on 5-13 passes. Arbor View ran the ball 41 times for 303 yards.

Canyon Springs at Cheyenne
The Desert Storm was beaten by the Pioneers of Canyon Springs, 41-6. The Pioneers scored 41 unanswered points before Cheyenne got on the board in the fourth quarter.
Canyon Springs carried the ball for 231 yards on 22 carries and completed 11-14 passes for 162 yards and 3 touchdowns.Cheyenne finished with 191 yards of total offense 93 rushing and 98 passing.

Mojave at Legacy
The Rattlers from Mojave High School travelled to Legacy where the Longhorns beat the Rattlers 50-14. Legacy scored 4 touchdowns in the second quarter to break the game open.
Mojave finished with 146 yards of total offense with 98 yards rushing. Legacy finished with 314 yards of offense 168 passing.

Eldorado at Sunrise Mountain
The Miners pounded the Sun Devils 52-7 at home. Eldorado scored first on a 57 yard pass to Andres Jimenez from Jaime Rangel. Then it was all Miners who had 488 yards of total offense, 377 on the ground.
Sunrise Mountain may be the team to beat this year in the Sunset. The Moapa Valley win over the Miners may be huge when it comes playoff time.

Western at Boulder City
The Warriors were beaten by the Boulder City Eagles 29-13. The Eagles are 2-0 as an Independent.
Boulder City led 14-0 after the first quarter then 21-0 at half time. Boulder City had 156 yards total with 145 yards on the ground.

3A North
Truckee at Wooster
The Truckee Wolverines have started the season 2-0 with their first league win by a 35-0 score over the Wooster Colts. The Truckee quarterback threw for 130 yards on 9-11 passing with an interception. The Wolverines ran for 381 yards with five different runners. Truckee finished with 511 total yards of offense.

Fernley at Fallon
This rivalry had a different winner this year as Fernley beat the Greenwave, 32-30.

Elko and Dayton
Elko shut out Dayton in Dayton 40-0. Elko ran for 241 yards with Gavin Byington running for 117 yards and a touchdown. Ryan Wickersham threw for 133 yards on 4-7 passing with 3 touchdowns.

Sparks at South Tahoe
The Vikings beat Sparks 53-7 as McCallan Castles scored the first three touchdowns in the first five minutes of the game. He had 144 yards receiving by halftime.

Spring Creek at Lowry
Last year’s state runner-up beat rival Lowry 35-0.
